Philippine Air Force to Receive Two Brand New Attack Version AW109 Power Helicopter

Last November 2013,  the Philippine Government confirmed that it has purchased eight brand new attack helicopters with night vision capability for Philippine Air Force .

Two (2) out of eight (8) Agusta Westland AW109 Power Helecopter is scheduled for delivery this year 2014. The acquisition of the attack helicopter brings additional COIN capability to Philippine Air Force.

The Philippines and AgustaWestland of Italy  signed the Php 3.44 billion contract for the brand new attack version of the AW-109 Power Helicopter.

The AW109s Attack Helicopter will primarily be in the internal security operations role.
